The Goldsboro High School JROTC Drill Team’s lone soloist, Timothy Ward, wasn’t the favorite going in to this weekend’s competition at Charles B. Aycock, but that didn’t stop him from wowing the crowd — and bringing a title back to GHS. The following video was shot by Pride videographer Christina Richardson.

Goldsboro High School added some incredible teaching talent this summer when administrators plucked several gems from the private sector. As members of the Pride crew found out Wednesday during Second Block, band director Kenneth Northcutt is one of them.

The Goldsboro High School varsity football team isn’t the only group anticipating Friday’s matchup with Charles B. Aycock. The varsity cheerleaders circled this game on their calendars, too. And the action that unfolded during the crew’s Wednesday practice left little doubt. These ladies are ready to do what they do best.
